NUCC meeting 2012-09-16, in Linköping. 0: Start Meeting Sun Sep 16 10:29:27 CEST 2012 1: Elect Chairman Christopher Culina elected by silent acclamation 2: Elect Secretary Knut Auvor elected by silent acclamation and lack of better candidates 3: Elect Record Checkers/Vote Counters Pontus Pihlgren Jesper Christensen elected by mumbling and implicit acclamation 4: Approval of the agenda Approved by nodding 5: Decide who has the right to vote 2 from PING 1 from PVV 1 from NVG 2 from Update 1 from DF 7 from Lysator 6: Report from the NUCC board The board is very happy with this year's NUCCC, and hope next year's NUCCC will continue the tradition. Perhaps even with more participants! The board has had very little to do, since Lysator did everything on their own. We feel useless and abandoned. Feel free to use the board more in the future. But kudos on making it on your own! Editors note: xrandr -s 1024x768 followed by xrandr --auto might fix the display next year. FYI. 7: Retire the old board (freedom of responsibility) Board retired by silent acclamation and sipping of soda. 8: Select new place GOTO 10 8b: Primary: Update Secondary: PING Update has to report whether they can hold NUCCC 2013 before February 2nd, 2013 9: Elect new NUCC board Candidates, sorted by rand(): Pontus Pihlgren, Update Christopher Culina, PING Knut Auvor Grythe, PVV Lars Lindholm, Lysator Martin Benonisen, PING Jesper Christensen, Update Mats Gustavsson, DF David Kaasen, NVG Everyone elected by actual acclamation GOTO 42 10: Misc Questions and info Christopher Culina suggests more cooperation between the clubs outside of NUCCC, like cooperation on projects, guest accounts for members of other clubs, and more. Mats Gustavsson suggests sending out physical posters which can be used on campus to attract more participants. He also suggests inviting people outside of the computer clubs. Christopher suggests figuring out why the finns are so introvert, and to figure out how to attract them. Mats suggests asking for confirmation that the invitation has been received, to make sure invitations don't get lost in the mail. Lars Lindholm suggests inviting the baltic states and possibly northern Germany. Christopher suggests actually starting to use the wiki we made last year, and making it a generic NUCC thing, not just for hosting NUCCC. Christopher repeats last year's proposal to update the website from its current 1980's look to a more modern 1995-like approach. There was some discussion on how to make housing cheaper. The problem is that it is very hard to be allowed to sleep on campus or in nearby schools any more. Lysator didn't get any sponsors this year, in part because they didn't know how many participants they would get. Knut Auvor suggests giving an estimate of 10-30 people, and pointing out that the people are very technical and more likely candidates for hire than in most other events. Lars suggests that one might get some goodwill from the universities by inviting everyone to the lectures. David Kaasen suggests applying for Nordisk Kontaktstipend, but one has to be very early. Like, super early. Like now. Concrete action points: - Investigate possibilities for guest accounts/eduroam - Look at the website (Lars volunteers, but appreciates help) - Try to find clubs in the baltic nations, Denmark and Germany - Invite more people to #nuccc@IRCNet GOTO 8b 42: End meeting Meeting ended by acclamation and showing of Techno Kitten Adventure Meat Pack featuring Byarf Kitteh Meeting adjorned Sun Sep 16 12:04:04 CEST 2012
